out to kill rabbits has finally seen the light of day as a featured poem in the february 2021 edition of better than starbucks.

it’s one of what i call a dualism poem. there are two distinct poems, one set in a conversational form and the other in a metaphorical abstract form. the conclusion of the poem ties the two together. they are difficult to write, in my mind, but when it works they are fun to read. out to kill rabbits was rejected 8 or 9 times before BTS accepted it for inclusion as a feature.
this is the first time i’ve been paid for a single poem in currency.
